“Honey, you know I didn’t destroy this world by myself, I had a little help.”

Shirley sits cross-legged wearing a long flowing purple robe. It’s springtime and everybody’s outside in the green, green grass. Many spiritual seekers have come to see the mother of Keith Partridge. Shirley positions herself comfortable on the large purple and pink swirled pillow she sits on. Orange creamsicle incense wafts into the sky. She smiles at her audience.

A young lady raises her hand. “Yes, child. What is your question?”

The thin blonde woman stands and asks, “Do you think that if everyone did meditation that one day there would be world peace?”

Shirley smiles and says, “Mediation is very groovy but there is no such thing as world peace and there never will be. And any guru or spiritual leader who tells you that is either mentally ill or a liar. However, inner peace is a possibility. But that’s up to you. And that’s out of my hands even though I’m God.”

A curly brown-haired man raises his hand. “How can we stop all this war? There’s so much death. I’m so uptight. Every time I turn the TV on it’s something negative, man. We need to wake the people up. They’re being brainwashed by the people in positions of power.”

The man starts to cry. Shirley smiles again and says, “Everything is perfect. Everything is as it should be. And this world was designed for many things and conflict is one of the top ten TV shows on planet Earth. Just remember, millions of years ago on this planet there were dinosaurs. Some of them were herbivores and the others were carnivores that would eat the herbivores. Isn’t that beautiful? Doesn’t that answer every question you could ever possibly have about Mother Nature and the whole Existence Trip?

Also, brainwashing is beautiful. Cleanliness is next to godliness. Perhaps you’ve heard this before. Also, Laurie and Danny placed the people in positions of power there. They’re like the dinosaurs that eat meat. They were designed to do that and they do a wonderful job. Everything that happens is supposed to happen even when it’s not supposed to happen.”

A woman stands up sobbing, “Why are there so much horrible TV shows nowadays? There’s no more Bewitched or Beverly Hillbillies or Major Dad. What can we do?”

Shirley claps her hands once and says, “Child of the sobbing tears, all TV is good TV it’s just the way you look at it. It’s all about the channel you’re on and if you have an up-to-date TV Guide. If you can’t find a good television program to watch you need to look at your inner TV Guide.”

Everyone starts to clap and chant. A woman and man approach Shirley with a basket of money “Here, oh Mother of the Universe we make this offering for you to help feed the hungry.”

Shirley nods and takes the basket of money. She then pulls out a bottle of Thousand Island dressing from her purple suede pocket book and a box of garlic croutons. She pours the entire bottle over the basket of money and then adds the croutons. Christopher who’s sitting behind her, hands her a plastic spork and then before she starts eating she says, “Oh, thank you. I’m ever so hungry.”

And then she eats her delicious green salad and children starve in different pockets of the world but today Shirley Partridge is full and all is Right-On.

The Basket of Shirley is Heavy with Candy Corn

Shirley rubs the young girl’s head. She is sickly, wrapped in a warm blanket. Shirley strokes her auburn hair. The little child smiles and says, “Why did you bring me to this park?”

Shirley pops a lemon lozenge and says, “Do you like all the autumn leaves before you?”

“Yes. The forest is glowing with fall excitement. It’s so strange. Fall is one of the most beautiful times of the year but once the leaves fall it’s wintertime.”

Shirley strokes the young girl’s cheek, “Yes. Do you know why that is? “

“No”, the sweet pink mouth whispers.

“Because you’re dying. You have an advanced form of cancer; one of the most beautiful things that the Great King ever invented. You are withering and soon shall die. The reason the leaves turn all those beautiful reds, browns, yellows, oranges and pinks is because death is beautiful. After winter comes spring and all the leaves sing. Why should it be any different for death? Shouldn’t death be heralded by beauty? The crispness of fall is like death pinching you on your little cheek. Soon, you will stand up and you will no longer feel frail but strong and you’ll see that autumn forest yawning before you. And the fall leaves will smell like spring and yet autumn at the same time. And you will strip your clothes from your body and run naked into the autumn forest and you will never come here again nor would you ever want to.”

The little girl smiles and says, “Why do the leaves turn those colors?”

“Well, for many different reasons, dear child. But the one I hold dear to my breast is that Buddhist monk’s robes are brown, orange and yellow, symbolizing the leaves of autumn. And like the leaves of autumn that one day must fall, you should be like them. One day let go and fall slowly to the floor below.”

And with that the wee child coughs one last time and shutters no more.

A Magic Kingdom Divided Cannot Stand

Walt Disney interview with Sini Anderson before the premier of Maleficent.

SA: First of all I’d like to thank you, Mr. Disney for taking the time out of your busy schedule to do this interview.

WD: The schedule of life is always busy unless you’re a lazy good-for-nothing. So, what would you like to talk about, Sini?

SA: Well, as a third and fourth wave feminist I think I can speak for the whole feminist community in saying that we were very excited about this new interpretation of Maleficent.

WD: So you liked the movie? You saw an early viewing last week, am I correct? I really liked the little mushroom guy. What’d you like about it? Was the 3-D adequate?

SA: Yes, the 3-D was wonderful. But what was most rewarding was taking an iconic female villain and showing people that not all women are completely evil. And sometimes the reason they are what they are in the present, is because of trauma in the past.

WD: Well, Sini not sure what you’re really talking about. But did you know that the young lady who played Maleficent used to be married to Billy Bob Thornton? He’s a terrific actor. I’d like to someday work with him if we ever get that new Daniel Boone movie up and running. He’d make a great addition to the cast.

SA: Yes, I knew they were once married. What I was saying was I believe this is a very important movie for Disney in the way that modern day feminists view Disney at this point in time. And most importantly, I think Maleficent and Aurora are very positive role models for young girls and boys who may one day identify as girls.

WD: Well, again thanks so much for the compliments, Sini. When we set out to do a live-action origin story about one of the most beloved villainesses of all time my first thought was poppycock! But then I realized you know, there’s nothing wrong with taking a good recipe and improving upon it. Both recipes are still good but slightly different. But I will say, I like my chili simple, served from a can. Too many wild hot pepper recipes nowadays. The old stomach can’t handle it.

SA: I thought it was great how you subverted the tired trope of the passive damsel with the prince who comes in and saves her and everyone in the nick of time.

WD: Now I’m not sure what you’re talking about. We didn’t subvert anything. What I wanted to do was have a wonderful occult movie experience for the entire family. Basically, I wanted to show that good and evil really function best when they’re united. I also wanted to put forth an obvious Luciferian principle with Satan as the clear hero of the film. You see, Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent is in my mind an androgynous character. She’s like the horned king but she’s also a woman. She has wings because she symbolizes the higher realm and the subtle realm. When Stefan cuts her wings off, it’s like Satan being banished from Heaven. It also represents the slow, sluggish material realm and how it’s difficult sometimes to fly above that.

Of course when you watch the movie, you realize that Aurora and Maleficent are the same person. When Aurora finally meets Maleficent she says, “I know who you are. You’ve been watching over me, my whole life. Your shadow, it’s been following me, ever since I was small”.

This was of course the Jungian perspective about the shadow. Did you know that Jung built a tower on his Lake Zurich property? I heard he spent a lot of time by himself in that tower. Kind of like I spend a lot of time by my lonesome in my apartment overlooking Disneyland. Heck, I guess I built my own tower, too. I guess we’re both characters. I wish I had a chance to meet him. I think we would have got along splendidly. I don’t know if he liked chili or not.

SA: I didn’t think of it that way. But that makes sense.

WD: Didn’t you like how at the end of the movie Maleficent flies up to the sun, wings restored, wearing her black evil costume? The great thing about these times, Sini is as the sway of the Christian church crumbles, we can just put more and more blatant pagan, satanic mystical ideas right out there. And people will buy a ticket, sit in a seat and share a large butter popcorn. Do you like popcorn?

SA: Yes, I do. I always get a Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb at the theater.

WD: Ah, Mr. Pibb. That’s a good soda pop. And then of course I love the ending when you find out that Aurora is the narrator and says, “It took one who was both a hero and a villain to make things right. And her name was Maleficent.” That was another nod to Carl Jung. Are you familiar with Abraxas?

SA: Mr. Disney, I want to thank you for your time. I know you’ve got that premier to go to.

Sons of Androgyny

TRAGER WARNING: Major TV Spoilers!

This is a clip from Episode 4, Season 7 “Poor Little Lambs” on FX’s hit series, “Sons of Anarchy” which is also a beautiful show about God.

Tig: Where did you come from?

Venus: Well my sweet Alex. I was born of a man but I believe my true Genesis happened a bit later when I was stirred by the Gods of love and beauty and transformed into an angel who’s sole purpose is to bring light to the shadows and a little bit of joy to all those lost souls who can no longer find it.

Tig: Yes.

The last episode which people like to call the 3rd episode, has a scene where the new female sheriff in Charming town talks about the above to Chibs who later talks about the below. This leads into what is commonly known as the 4th episode. Kurt Sutter is high-fiving God on all cylinders this season.

Tig has been shot and is lying on a couch. Venus says she’ll take care of him. What was said, please see above. Venus’s character is Hermaphroditus. She explains how her mother is Aphrodite. She says how she’s been stirred together. Also that she’s an angel an angel being a messenger of God. Her father is of course the God Mercury who is a messenger. Hermaphroditus is sometimes painted with wings like an angel. She puts her hand on Trigger’s chest symbolizing the heart hot-wheel with a six-pointed star. The union of male and female. Tig then kisses her and that union is complete.

Later towards the end of the episode after a bomb goes off at the ice cream store SCOOPS Chibs can see that Althea is upset and drives her home. This is unusual because outlaws hate the fuzz. But he puts his hand on her hand, squeezes it and another union of opposites makes for a wonderful ending to a wonderful episode. Who knows what will happen with this hot new couple Chibthea.

In the beginning of the episode when Jax asks Venus for a favor she says this to Jax and the other club members.

Venus: I feel we’re connected on a deeper vibration.

They all laugh and it’s a funny scene. But the funny thing is they really are connected on a deeper vibration. And God holds the TV clicker.
